A birdie chirps to say that Ranbir Kapoor was to attend a promotional event for his upcoming film Besharam last evening

The actor apparently cancelled the event as he did not want to be in Pune. As the actor turns 31 today, he wanted to usher it in with his near and dear ones last night.

So being in Pune for a late evening event and reaching Mumbai before midnight was impossible. The star preferred to stay put in Mumbai. As reported 'Something special up Ranbir's sleeve' (Hitlist, September 27), the actor is taking a day off today from his commitments.

Looks like the celebrations began last night. Wonder what a certain Kat had planned for him?
