Producer Director Mahesh Bhatt was threatened on telephone and some shots were fired on his office.
Last month producer Boney Kapoor received death threat from some unidentified person supposedly linked to underworld don Ravi Pujari.
Now with Sonu Nigam receiving a threat call from Dawood-company's second in command Chotta Shakeel, the controversial relationship between Bollywood and the underworld is again being debated. There is an interesting equation between the two; the former makes movies featuring real-life dons while the gangsters have been learnt to dating the actresses.
Sonu Nigam, the singer, maintains that he did not report the matter to the police but the cops came to know about it from their intelligence wing.
Boney Kapoor denies any nexus between the underworld and the Bollywood. He is not privy to any details and feels that security forces are dominating the crime scene and are capable of nipping any such threat in the bud.
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan who was shot at in 2000 says that he does not have much knowledge about the plot against him but as a part of the film fraternity he will only say that if the nexus is still continuing it is a sad thing.
Mahesh Bhatt says that the real industry has never flirted with the underworld mob adding that they will strongly take up the issue with the Mumbai police.
