Sajid Nadiadwala has decided to push back the release date of Heropanti in order to accommodate his other production Highway, helmed by Imtiaz Ali.
Tiger's film, directed by Sabbir Khan, was slated to release in February next year, will now hit the screens on May 16. It was initially to hit the marquee on February 21. But the same date has now been allotted to the Randeep Hooda-Alia Bhatt starrer.
Insiders say that since AR Rahman is working on the music of Highway, the filmmakers decided to give him sufficient time to wrap his work up. It was earlier set for release in December this year. A unit member says, `Nadiadwala is looking for a big release for Highway. He pushed the film back to February but looks like he wanted it to be a solo release from his end. Hence Heropanti had to be pushed back.`
Khan however says, `It's just an internal decision by the company and we will do anything for Imtiaz. I am his big fan.` Insiders say the Tiger starrer is 70 per cent complete.
