After she walked out of her upcoming production Bad, sources say the producer has taken away the title of the film as well. Initially there were rumours that the film was based on the life of notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj, which was later denied by the project's director, Prawaal Raman.
The makers had also courted trouble when they had a fall-out with a police official in Udaipur while the film was being shot. While confirming that the title, Bad still rested with her, Bhatt says, `I am not a part of the film anymore. It was a decision, which was taken purely for financial reasons and was decided upon by me and my partner, co-producer Amit Kapoor.`
The film currently has no title. Says Bhatt, `I feel we can retain brand Bad as a franchisee and make Bad 1, 2, 3. I want to take the title further.` While the producer has already started looking for fresh scripts to suit her title, Bhatt is now concentrating on her upcoming project, Cabaret.
In the meanwhile
Though she has been on the hunt for an actress for Cabaret since the last six to eight months, Bhatt is yet to find her girl. According to the producer, the perfect candidate would be the one with the right looks, depth of character and good acting chops. Says Bhatt, `I am still looking for my new-age Helen to dance for me.`
