Pooja made her debut in 1989 with "Daddy" and is remembered for her performances in films like "Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin" and "Sadak".
"I think when Pooja became an actress, she was the most fashionable heroine that time. She used to wear nice pants and tied her hair in a nice pony," Alia said here at the launch of a new range of nail paints by Maybelline New York.
"She once gave me a tip to walk pulling my shoulders back. So, in spite of being of average height, I still feel I am six feet tall. She was just really bold in her fashion sense," the 20-year-old, whose mother is actress Soni Razdan, added.
The actor-producer's curly locks made her noticeable and later she got into controversy for her infamous body paint act on her 18th birthday.
Alia is currently awaiting the release of three films - "Highway", "2 States" and "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania".
