"Vicky Donor" star Ayushmann Khurrana is excited to play eminent Maharashtrian scientist Shivkar Talpade in an untitled biopic at such an early stage of his career

Ayushmann is taking Marathi lessons to portray Talpade, who is believed to have constructed and flown India's first unmanned airplane much before the Wright brothers. "I am doing a biopic and it's always interesting to be a part of such films. I always wanted to do a biopic. I am happy that I am doing a good mix of films at such an early stage of my career.

Our scriptwriter is a Marathi and he gives me tips to learn Marathi as it is really a difficult task for a Punjabi," Ayushmann told PTI in an interview. The biopic, produced by Guneet Monga and directed by debutante filmmaker Vibhu Puri, will go on floor early next year.

The 29-year-old actor, who was last seen in Rohan Sippy's "Nautanki Saala", has also finished shooting his Yash Raj film "Bewakoofiyan" opposite Sonam Kapoor. Ayushmann will be seen in six-pack-abs for the love-story. John Abraham's trainer Vinod Channa helped the actor get the chiselled look. "'Bewakoofiyan' is a love-story set in the backdrop of recession.

It was not difficult for me to don the six-packs because I am naturally thin but I had to go through rigorous training for some months. "There are loads of pool shots in the film and for that I had to have a fit body.

Sonam will also be seen in a bikini this time," he said. Ayushmann, who has sung in his previous films, refused to divulge whether he has lent his voice in "Bewakoofiyan" too but he is happy that his latest Hindi-Punjabi single "O Heeriye" is being received well by the audience. "It feels great. In fact, it was a challenge for us to make this work because independent music doesn't have a market in India.

Most of the radio stations and music channels don't support Indie music till now. The only platform is online and digital," said Ayushmann, who took training in classical music in his childhood days. Ayushmann, however, is too busy with his acting career to take music forward.

"I am not that versatile as a singer. I am better as a lyricist and composer. My voice suits a particular genre and that is soft rock. I don't think I will be able to explore much with my voice but with my compositions and lyrics, I will definitely explore," he said.
