The young guns of the industry talk about how the senior actor has inspired them

`Amitabh Bachchan is undoubtedly one of the best actors we have in the industry and probably the last one who has successfully pulled off many performances which appears real and at the same time were stylised, which is a so unique. My idea of an angry young man, subtle romance, repressed emotions comes from his performances. I couldn't help thinking about his performances whenever playing a drunkard in my theatre days.

It's amazing how he can portray such different characters so convincingly every time. Probably, he is the most versatile actor of all time. With such accomplishments and being the biggest superstar he is still so humble, still willing to learn, still laughs at himself. His passion towards his art, his tenacity to fight back, his ability to adapt himself with every generation and his undying hunger to learn is truly inspiring. I have never met him personally but on his birthday I just want to thank him for inspiring me so much which obviously he is not aware of. Happy Birthday AB.`

`I have always been influenced by his dialogue delivery. For he is has become like reference guide whenever we want to do any scene normally we start the conversation by saying you have to do it like Amitabh did it this film. More than for his angry young man image I am big fan of his comedy films like Mr Natwarlal and Chupke Chupke. It would be really interesting to see it being remade. I would try to imitate his voice when I was young. When I came to Mumbai in the '90s I went to watch a shoot and it happened to be his film Akayla.

We were group of kids and in between the shots he pointed to me and told me my shoelace has been undone! Later I never thought that after nearly 15 years I will be able to meet him again on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati to promote Student Of The Year. He was really nice to me and showed me the entire set. Recently I got a chance to travel with him for the Marrakech Film Festival. He explained to us about how Hollywood industry works as he had wrapped The Great Gatsby then. It was wonderful to see how thrilled he was to talk about his new film and this is something all of us actors need to learn from him.`

`Every actor aspires to be Amitabh Bachchan some day. He is truly a legend and bridges the gap between all generations. He is my grand father's favourite hero, my father's hero, my hero and also my nephew's hero. He is the only actor who has played such a long inning. He created this image of angry young man and then at the same time he was known for his comic timing also. He has set a new benchmark for television anchors. He comes from a great lineage, he has a great baritone. He can sing, he has a great ear for music, he is an all rounder and is the perfect representative for Indian cinema.

He also is well-versed with technology and he understands the lingo of the present generation. He is the only actor I feel who has evolved with Indian cinema. When I was anchoring India's Got Talent, Siddharth Basu who also is the producer of Kaun Banega Crorepati used to share the way Mr Bachchan prepares for his show. His role in Shakti and Namak Halaal are the two I love the most and of course in his recent movies it is Paa and Black. I think he was just outstanding in Black. Happy Birthday Sir. I was on top of the world when he started following me on Twitter.`
- Ayushmann Khurrana

`I've grown up watching his films like Shakti, Trishul and Satte Pe Satta. To me Amitabh Bachchan redefines inspiration not only to young actors but also those he comes across in his everyday life. What really puts me in awe is his personality and the way he deals with his time. His punctuality is legendary now. The amount of discipline he brings to the sets is something I aspire to emulate.

He is someone who is completely aware of what's going on around him. One just has to look at his blog and you'll understand that he doesn't take himself for granted. On the professional front, they say he arrives even before the spot boy does! That's the level of dedication he has towards his work. I don't see anyone replacing him ever.`
- Saqib Saleem

`There are three actors who inspired me towards becoming an actor myself. One of them is Amitabh Bachchan. I used to pretend like I was he - be it his character in Hum or Shehanshah - for at least three weeks after watching his films. I remember crying like a baby when Vijay died in Deewaar.

I just couldn't come to terms with the reality that it was just a movie where sometimes, characters die. I wasn't convinced that how can God kill a guy who was so good at what he was doing! Today, when I look back, I smile because that's what Amitabh Bachchan meant to me and he still does.`
