It's well known that Sanjay Gupta prefers to cast tried-and-tested actors in most of his films and no surprise that Manoj Bajpayee has been roped in for the filmmaker's next, Mumbai Saga.
No surprises again that Manoj will apparently play a baddie in this film as well. After playing a gangster in Sanjay's Shootout in Wadala, the actor is set to apparently play dreaded don Arun Gawli aka Daddy who operated from Dagdi Chawla in Byculla.
During his prime years as a gangster, Gawli was instrumental behind burning down the mill areas of Mumbai.
Says Gupta, `Action, drama, deceit, betrayal, power play, politics, crime, cops and gangsters will be the keywords of the film. There is a lot of hearsay at this point. It's too early to talk about the casting and the details of the project.`
And if rumours are to be believed, the makers have planned to construct a huge set resembling the Dagdi chawl elsewhere, as getting the permissions to shoot in the actual area is proving to be quite difficult.
Without divulging details about his character, Bajpayee says, `Sanjay is a close friend and we discussed about the movie in totality, not particularly about any character."
