Shahid had to come out in the open to rubbish the rumor that he had opted out of Tigmanshu Dhulia directed 'Milan Talkies'.
The actor accepted that the film has been offered to him but he has not signed on the dotted line yet. He was yet to go through the script and have a feel of the film before he committed himself.
The film has been the talk of the tinsel town for a while because of speculation regarding its lead actor.
According to reports, the film was earlier supposed to star Imran Khan but later Shahid's name cropped up due to the alleged differences between Imran and Ekta over the marketing of 'Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara'.
And then the rift widened so much that Imran was replaced by Shahid Kapoor. Now, there were reports that Shahid too declined the film.
However, the 32-year-old actor set the record straight and said, "I have never said I am doing this film. So when I have not said yes to the project where does the question of me saying no comes from. I have been offered the film but I am yet to decide as there is a process like narration and all. Whenever I sign the film we will make a formal announcement," Shahid told reporters at an event.
There were reports that Shahid said no because Shraddha Kapoor, who is relatively a newcomer was likely to be paired opposite him but the actor rubbishes that too.
"This is not true as I am doing Vishal Bharadwaj's next film with her," Shahid said.
The film titled 'Haider' is an Indian adaptation of Shakespeare's trilogy 'Hamlet'. It is likely to go on floors by the end of this year and will be shot in Kashmir.
Even Shahid's leading lady in 'R...Rajkumar' Sonakshi Sinha too declined to talk about her reported casting as Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh, in Subhash Ghai's film on the slain Indian prisoner.
