"I always had a flow with dialogues and songs. You might not know it, but in many of my earlier films like 'Coolie No 1' I had written many lines," Govinda told here.
"Many times I gave the idea and then writers and directors refined it to suit the taste of the audience," he said. The actor, known for his comedy films and his signature dance style, said since the films were successful he never took credit for the lyrics.
"This time when I came up with a song I said I will give it to the people directly without giving it to any producer," he said about the four-song album where he has also lent his voice. The album includes 'Pinto Party Da Mood', an upbeat party number, while another song in the compilation is a Navratri song.
"All have the essence of what Govinda as an entertainer and performer stands for," said the actor whose first music album was 'Govinda' in 1998. Besides him, the songs also feature television actor Puja Banerjee. Govinda was in Kolkata for the Durgapujas to take part 'dandiya' for handicapped children organisedby Media Connect.
Reminiscing on his career, he said when he was a 19-year-old, he started making short videos featuring himself.
"I was the actor, dancer, writer and even the director in these videos. I showed it to film-makers who liked these videos and that's how I got a chance," said the 49-year-old who was last seen in the 2011 release 'Naughty @ 40'. "I was one of the first actors who started the trend of making videos," he said.
Recalling his three decade old career, he said he had seen all the highs and lows of the Hindi film industry. "This is the third transition phase in my life. The first one was in 1989 when I hadno release. Then in 2004 there was no film. And, now I had no release since the last 1-2 years," he said.
The actor's next release would be his home production 'Abhninay Chakra' where he will be acting opposite former Mrs World Richa Sharma. "This will release next year along with 'Run Bhola Run' which is a comedy film," Govinda said.
