"He has been thinking about releasing the trailer of the sequel on his birthday. It was supposed to be released earlier, but there was some more editing to be made. He is yet to confirm if he will indeed release it on his birthday," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
"Vishwaroopam 2", Tamil-Hindi bilingual spy-thriller, is written and directed by Kamal Haasan, who also plays the role of Major Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri.
The sequel, which also stars Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Shekhar Kapur and Andrea Jeremiah, has been mostly shot in India.
Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rahman plays Kamal's mother in the film, which has been produced by Venu Ravichandran.
"Vishwaroopam" released after facing a lot of setbacks earlier this year but reportedly minted over Rs.100 crore at the box-office.
