The two were identified as Gayatri Devendra and Santosh Pandey. The duo had worked for Devgns for three years in the past. The two were arrested from their respective residences in Bandra (East) and Nalasopara.
Officials said the theft was discovered on October 22, when Kajol was getting ready for Karva Chauth following which a complaint was lodged at the Juhu police station.
In their complaint, the Devgns mentioned that 17 bangles, worth about Rs 5 lakh, were missing from their residence.
Since the actors had failed to note down Devendra and Pandey's addresses, police officials said they had to question the other domestic helps to get the addresses. This was the second theft reported at the bungalow called the Devgn House.
In 2008, a domestic staffer was arrested from Chhattisgarh for his involvement in a theft at the bungalow.
According to the complaint filed by the Devgns, Kajol realised that her wardrobe had been broken into.
She found her jewellery box half open and its contents haphazardly arranged. A closer inspection revealed that 17 bangles were missing. Some of these bangles were gifts from Ajay. Kajol said she had last used some articles from the jewellery box on October 15.
