With Diwali at our doorsteps, CS asks a few B-Town celebs about their festive plans...

Deepika Padukone
Diwali is one of my favourite festivals. In Bangalore as a child, my sister and I would help my mother make rangolis, light diyas and we would celebrate with the entire family. My mother even makes the traditional Manglorean sweets at home. As a family we really look forward to celebrating together on this occasion.

Ajay Devgan

This Diwali, I am going to be home spending time with my entire family. It's a time to celebrate and what better way to enjoy than with my kids. I love the kind of excitement Diwali generates in them. I would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe Diwali.

Ayushmann Khurrana

I will try and spend time with my family in Chandigarh on Diwali. The festival is no fun without the presence of your near and dear ones. Also, Diwali celebrations in North India have a different vibe altogether.

I remember my dad asking me to distribute sweets to his friends in Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. I had a lot of fun driving around with my friends to all these places. I have a huge sweet tooth, and love all kinds of Indian sweets. Diwali gives me the perfect excuse to indulge myself. During the festive season, the supply of sweets is also endless.

Ronit Roy

I have the philosophy that I am what I am because of my work. So, I work on auspicious occasions. I will be shooting on the day. We will have a puja in the morning and then it will be back to work. I will try and wrap my shoot early and spend the evening with my family. There will be a lot of sweets at home. We don't burst loud crackers.

I have a bad memory attached to the festival. As a kid, I lit a bomb on my hand, which left painful burns on my palm. Since then, I keep myself and my kids away from dangerous crackers. I would request everyone not to try stunts with fireworks.

Aditya Roy Kapur

My plans for Diwali are dependent on my director, Habib Faisal. I am presently shooting for his film in Hyderabad. What I hate about Diwali is losing money in the card games. I somehow manage to do it every year. At home, a yummy spread is the highlight of the festival.

My best Diwali was years ago when I tagged along with my elder brother, Kunaal (Roy Kapur) to the seaface, where he was bursting rockets into the sea, and doing a host of crazy things. I was this typical irritating younger brother then.

Randeep Hooda

I will be celebrating Diwali with my parents at Rohtak in Haryana. I have a sweet tooth and love to gorge on the mithai that's made at home during this period. Diwali has always been a special festival for me.

I studied in a hostel, and Diwali was a time to come home to my parents and nani. I don't like crackers anymore but I was quite crazy about them in childhood. I remember bursting lots of crackers under the watchful eyes of my nani.
