It is going to be quite a coming together of talent. Filmmaker-singer-actor Farhan Akhtar will star as writer-poet Sahir Ludhianvi in a bio-pic that new director Jasmeet Reen would direct.

Ashi Dua who produced Bombay Talkies, that very effective and sincere 4-story homage to 100 years of Indian cinema on behalf of Viacom 18, would be producing the project chronicling the life of Sahir Ludhianvi.

While other details are still to be worked out I did get some vital details on the project from someone very close to the project who said, `Sahir would focus on the poetry and the love between Sahir Ludhianvi and author Amrita Pritam . They shared a stormy relationship that lasted for decades.Farhan is the natural choice for the role since his father is a poet and Farhan himself writes poetry.`

We also hear Farhan would be singing some of Sahir's immortal lines.
