Newbie Puneet Singh Ratn recently got enraged enough to slap someone from a production house. And the lead actor of Satya 2 is not the only one in this unwanted club of stars who have lost their temper at the most inopportune moments. Hitlist remembers some embarrassing 'losing temper' situations of the stars...
Kangna Ranaut
Haunting past: The self-confessed moody actress has often been accused of being a diva during working hours! Interestingly enough, she found herself in trouble when her driver accused her of abuse -- both physically as well as verbally -- just because he asked her to give directions to the sets of Fashion in which Kangs was playing a leading role.
Salman Khan
Haunting past: The official enfant terrible of Bollywood has remarkably turned over a new leaf as there is hardly any news nowadays of the 47-year-old being remotely party of misconduct. But this wasn't the case a few years ago. He was often noted for embroiling himself into fights and spats with everyone from photographers to fellow actors.
Shah Rukh Khan
Haunting past: The quintessential superstar, laced with a charming wit and a picture-perfect family in tow, has seldom moved out of his goody-goody image. But his ugly bust-up with Shirish Kunder during which he slapped the director followed up by an uglier confrontation with a security guard at MCA shall forever remain as apologetic memories.
Saif Ali Khan
Haunting past: An impeccable gentleman with a royal air to boot, he has rarely strayed away. However, when the Nawab of Pataudi reportedly assaulted a photographer while filming Love Aaj Kal, his image took a temporary beating. It was further damaged by a scuffle he had with a NRI in a hotel in Mumbai, resulting in serious legal repercussions.
Govinda
Haunting past: For all his recorded instances of eccentricities, this one takes the cake: on the set of Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, he had allegedly slapped a fan who had come to watch his favourite actor's shooting. Govinda, while defending himself, said that the fan tried to get too close to the female dancers on the sets and misbehaved.
Aditya Pancholi
Haunting past: For some reason, he has had altercations with law over and over again. Allegedly inebriated at the time, he once had a fight with his neighbour over parking space in Versova. It led to a police case. Later, he was named in an incident of alleged assault involving a female reporter for a TV channel, which left her injured and her camera, broken.
Ekta Kapoor
Haunting past: Known to be temperamental by her own admission, the producer has sobered up over the years. In contrast, earlier, she had run into unnecessary rows because of her lack of anger management. There have been several reports of her turning nasty on staff members - thus giving rise to grapevine full of juicy and noisy showdowns.
Om Puri
Haunting past: One of the finest thespians in the country somehow couldn't stay away from personal conundrums. In fact, he was booked for allegedly assaulting his wife with a stick at his apartment in Andheri. The duo apparently were arguing about the maintenance of their flat. He was reportedly absconding after the incident took place.
Huma Khan
Haunting past: She was sentenced in 2012 to three-year imprisonment by a court for assaulting and torturing a minor girl, who worked at her house in Pune as a domestic help. Adding to her troubles, the 43-year-old has-been actress was also charged with abducting and subsequently torturing the 12-year-old daughter of her maid for eight months back in 2007.
From bygone era
In the olden days too, there were instances of those belonging to Hindi cinema being way too difficult and whatnot but violence was strictly out of question...
>> Thorough professionals, Sharmila Tagore and co-star Mala Sinha were part of a much-publicised cat fight on the sets during the shoot of Hum Saaya (1968) but that was it.
>> Kishore Kumar, despite his incredible genius, was known to be finicky at times to work with -- especially when it came to matters of commerce and payment delays.
>> The splendid Shammi Kapoor was chided by the media then for having `attitude problem` while dealing with hotshot producers whom he wasn't comfortable working with.
>> Popular beyond imagination, Rajesh Khanna was equally famous for his demands and also for unabashedly displaying an attitude `that only a superstar can have`.
