The show will go on air on NDTV Good Times Monday.
"'A Simple Life' will take my fans on a journey of what I am like on and off camera," John said in a statement.
"I'm really excited to be part of this initiative. I've personally always backed and encouraged shows with fresh and original content," he added.
The model-turned-actor and now film producer will open up about his personal space - behind the make up and flash lights scene, in the show.
Viewers will get a rare chance to experience John's moods in between breaks on a shoot, getting ready for a meeting, interacting with fans, promotional tours, workouts and his 'me time' at home.
For the channel, the show will "reach out to generation Y".
"Given our renewed focus on content for the young and young at heart, we are very excited to present 'John Abraham: A Simple Life'. The show gives the viewers a sneak peek into John Abraham's life and brings the Bandra boy closer to his fans for the first time on Indian television," said Arati Singh, channel head.
It will air Monday to Thursday at 10 p.m.
