His next project Kill Dill directed by his buddy Shaad Ali rolls in the next couple of days. The actor has been told by the director to shed his Ram-Leela look ASAP.
Says Ranveer, `Shaad tells me that he cannot see me and the character that I am essaying in his film. The project rolls soon, but it will take me a while to move on from Ram-Leela. I still want to enjoy the response in the look.`
As a first step to get out of the Ram-Leela mode, he has to shave his facial fuzz.
The actor's handlebar moustache has become such a veritable part of his persona that it has made B-Town forget how he looks clean-shaven. Ranveer loves to keep twirling the ends. So he will surely miss it. `For over a year I have had this look, so I am going to miss it. Twirling the ends... it kept me doing something always.`
While Ranveer is still wondering how life would be without the whiskers, the moustache also had him go through a fair share of controversies, especially during the release of his film Lootera that required him to promote the film in a clean-shaven vintage look.
As reported, 'Mooch adieu' (Hitlist, September 11), the actor was initially slated to shave last month but when he fell ill due to dengue, his schedule was delayed and so was his mooch removal.
Meanwhile...
Ranveer Singh with co-star Deepika Padukone at a celebration bash held at director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's home over the weekend. At the party, the two were apparently inseparable and posed for snapshots stuck to each other.
Their on-screen romance spilled on to off-screen. Interestingly, Ranveer first met Dippy during the script reading before the shoot started. He says,`I did not know Deepika though I had briefly met her thrice before. But our first introduction was when we began shooting for Ram-Leela. My first impression of her was that she was sorted. She is an extremely accommodating co-star and thanks to her I am now aware of different fashion terminology.`
