It is noteworthy that Amrita has worked in a variety of movies - from a college romance to a masala entertainer, a biopic and an issue-based subject - Amrita Rao is happy that she has now fulfilled one more dream. In her upcoming movie, 'Singh Saab The Great', the actress plays a news channel reporter, a character she has been eager to portray for long now. When producer-director Anil Sharma offered her two roles to make a choice, she opted for the role of a journalist rather to act as wife of Sunny Deol.
Delving more on her role, she says that before shooting she went through a series of workshops to learn eastern Uttar Pradesh accent. She also watched lot of Hindi movies to know about diction, language and correct body language.
To a question if in real life she would have liked to be a journalist then which beat (i.e area) she would have preffered? Amrtia says that in India, it takes a lot of courage to be a political reporter. Even in entertainment journalism, asking edgy questions isn't a cakewalk. However, she would have loved to be a city reporter. We live in a country where parents don't sleep till their girls reach home, given the not-so-safe scenario. I have new respect for women journalists.
She is looking forward to explore her comic streak, so she would like to do comedies. And, she would also like to do a thriller.
Amrita sounding truthful says that there was 'no much much' about her at all in bollywood gossip mill. she believes the actors are in demand because of the characters we essay in films. Talking about your romantic life may keep you in the news, but she feels that the sanctity of a relationship would get dissolved in the process.
