So will this pave the way for her sharing the screen with Papa Sinha? "I would love to. But we have to find something that suits his booming personality, he can't do a film for the heck of it." Meanwhile, she is looking forward to the release of Tigmanshu Dhulia's 'Bullett Raja', a collaboration which has been in the making for a long time.
"I'd loved 'Paan Singh Tomar' and the 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster' series but I was juggling four other films when he approached me for a project. When he left the room, I thought I'd never get another chance to work with him. But a few months later, he returned with 'Bullett Raja' and I grabbed it," she reminisced.
Tigmanshu has been saying that her pairing with Saif Ali Khan reminds him of the Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha jodi? "He's being kind, Tishu made Saif and me stand together, stared at us for five minutes, shut his eyes and said, 'Fit hai, chalo lets start!' He has his own way of making a film," she laughed. She plays a struggling actor in the film who comes face-to-face with the casting couch, but has Sonakshi ever encountered a similar situation in real life? "I never had to struggle which is what drew me to this character. But even she draws the line and refuses to cross it," Sonakshi pointed out.
And buzz suggests that she will play a mother in the third instalment of the franchise which launched her, 'Dabangg'. Is that a great idea for a 26-year-old actress? "I became a mom in 'Dabangg 2' and obviously the baby will grow up in the next movie. As an actress I have to be open to doing any kind of role given that 'Dabangg' is such a big franchise."
But before onscreen motherhood, there is R..... Rajkumar opposite Shahid Kapoor, though the actor's past films failed to set the cash registers ringing? "For me more than box office numbers it's the process of filmmaking which is important. When I'm older and look back on a film, I'd like to remember the instances when I laughed or learnt something new. These are the memories that stay with you and not the crores the film made," she reasoned.
Salman was very particular about how his Rajjo dresses, is it the same with the other heroes? "None of my heroes tell me what to wear and I don't choose films depending on my costumes. I know I look good in Indian clothes, I won't wear a skirt just for a lark, na?" she questioned. What about a bikini? Her answer is a short and snappy "No".
