Although the first day collection of R...Rajkumar was not something exceptional but with an average occupancy of around 40-45 % that it received at its opening and an earning of approximately 10.20 Crores, R... Rajkumar managed to emerge as one of best openers of Shahid's career.
Whereas on Saturday there was a marginal decline in the foot fall and BO collection of "R...Rajkumar" and the movie could only garner 9.5 crores on its day 2. Probably bad word of mouth publicity and adverse reviews from the critic lobby took somewhere down the line impeded the flourishing spectrum of the movie.
But Sunday again provided a boost to R...Rajkumar's business, and by the evening it managed to rake in around Rs 10.50 Crore nett.
So with a decent earning on its first weekend run, "R...Rajkumar" has earned approximately 30.2 crores on the ticket window.
Soon after its release this directorial venture of Prabhu Dheva starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha received mixed reviews for its content, but it somehow manage to impede the ongoing mild recession phase from the Bollywood which marked its onset soon after Diwali, and except "Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela", literally swallowed movies like "Bullet Raja", "Rajjo", "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" etc.
Even after remaining on multiplexes for whole week, Tigmanshu Dhulia's much awaited project "Bullet Raja" could not prove much and literally broke down into bits with earning of Rs 34.91 Crores in its one week cineplex jaunt.
Probably it was the failure of these recently released cine disasters, which paved the success path for "R... Rajkumar". Now in the days ahead it will be interesting to see if "R... Rajkumar" manages to maintain its momentum or will start loosing it's lustre in days ahead.
