'Sholay' director Ramesh Sippy's wife has taken recourse to social media to express ire over 3D remake of the film

Sholay director Ramesh Sippy's actress wife Kiran Joneja has taken recourse to social media to express her ire over the upcoming 3D version of her husband's film. She wrote on Facebook: `Do you think Sholay would have been Sholay without Ramesh Sippy?`

When asked about it she says, `I cannot imagine Sholay without him. The film is a director's vision and adds that extra bit to it. A film cannot be successful without the director's contribution.

If others could manage to do everything, why would producers need directors? I just want to know what people think about it and what is their reaction to the film. If I had my way, I would do a poll to see the positioning of the director and what is the reaction of the people.

I know what people are saying, but just to confirm I would do the poll. The director has some rights over the film.`
