Dimple Kapadia apparently backed off from a promotional event for her upcoming film What The Fish at the last minute.
The veteran actress was certainly in no mood to share the stage with starlets like Poonam Pandey and Rakhi Sawant who were also invited. Poonam even stripped and posed in her golden coloured bikini.
Says a source, `Dimple has been promoting the film all this while and had confirmed her attendance at the event, but when Poonam Pandey posted her pictures on a social networking site talking about the bikini she will be wearing, it was a bit too much for Dimple to digest.`
A source close to the actress said, `Dimple is an established actress and it's her film. There is no way that she will be a part of such irrelevant ways of promoting the film.`
The filmmakers, apparently in an unprecedented move, paid Rakhi and Poonam, who have nothing to do with the film, to be a part of the event. It is learnt that when the event was about to start and people were waiting for Dimple, she informed the makers she'll not be a part of such distasteful promotional activities.
However, the director of the film, Gurmmeet Singh says, `Dimpleji was not supposed to be a part of the party and she was not coming, so there is no way she could be upset.` The party invites, however, had Dimple's name.
