There is a strong buzz that Ranbir Kapoor has apparently been roped in for an item number in the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Bhootnath Returns. This will be the first time that the star will be sharing screen space with the legend.
The sequel to the 2008 film was launched on the eve of the Big B's birthday (October 11). Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar. Its first outing had the Big B along with Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan in the cast.
Says a source, `Ranbir Kapoor has been roped in for a song and the makers are trying to work out the dates for the shoot slated for January.`
Adds the source, `As both are busy, working out the combination dates is taking time, but Ranbir has agreed to feature in the song.`
Bachchan is reprising the role of a friendly ghost in it second coming. Bhootnath's first outing was produced by Ravi Chopra and in the sequel his son Abhay Chopra is creatively involved in the project.
Ranbir and Bhushan Kumar were not available for comment.
