Armaan was arrested, under Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman), 354(a) (sexual harassment), 294 (sing, recite or utter any obscene song or word) and 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code, on the basis of the complaint lodged by his eliminated co-contestant Sofia Hayat on December 11th at Santa Cruz police station of Mumbai.
But what followed next was even more shocking. After initial inquiry Armaan who was supposed to be produced before Vadgaav court at around 1 PM on 17th of December was released on bail of Rs. 50,000 and two solvent sureties of like amount from the police station only.
Armaan who was arrested under some very serious yet bailable charges soon after his release, amid the hullabaloo of NCP activists has reportedly re-entered the house. Now the million dollar question which arises here is that, was this whole exercise of getting Armaan arrested and then released on bail a serious affair or just a TRP boosting gimmick initiated by the makers of the show. Or was it an act to enhance the popularity of Armaan by getting sympathy votes for this "Angry Young Man" of the show.
And what made us think so is the fact that despite being one of the most talked about TV reality show during its previous seasons, this time Bigg Boss has failed in garnering any massive response and is struggling hard to gain the popularity among the viewers. Well whatever comes out to be truth subsequently, one thing which can't be denied after witnessing this somewhat lime-light hogging gimmick of the Bigg Boss is that, this whole controversy pertaining to, Armaan and Sofia, somewhere down the line has fetched a good pro-tempore popularity for the show and for Armaan too.
