"We are proud of Shah Rukh who has become a celebrity in the Bollywood and are keenly waiting for his visit to Peshawar," Mansoor Ahmad, first cousin of Khan, said.
He said Khan has expressed his desire to visit Peshawar and promised to stop by even if he visited Pakistan even for a day. Khan had visited Peshawar twice, in 1978 and 1980, when he was a school boy.
Ahmad's father Ghulam Mohammad was the elder brother of Khan's father Taj Mohammad.
Ahmad still lives in the house in the Shah Wali Qatal area near historic Qissa Khwani bazaar in the interior city where Khan's father had lived before moving to Delhi.
Khan's father had migrated to India for completing his higher studies after he was arrested and imprisoned for taking part in the freedom movement.
"Shah Rukh was interested in acting from the very beginning and during his visit to Peshawar he used to speak as if performing in a film," said Ahmad, as quoted by the APP.
Khan loves Peshawar because he had roots here and liked to use things belonging to the city - the Peshawari footwear for instance which he bought during his second visit and used for seven years, he said.
Ahmed 's sister Noor Jehan visited India in 1997 and stayed with Khan for over two months. "During my stay, Shah Rukh used to probe me regarding his paternal family members."
