Singer Palash Sen's recent comments during the Mood Indigo youth festival at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Powai has stirred a hornet's nest.

During his concert, the doctor-singer asked the crowd if there are beautiful women in IIT, the crowd replied in the negative. Palash then said that IITians should not be too heartbroken because they will get the best girls on the market once they're out and they will roll out rotis for them.

The Maeri singer later stated, `Women are the most beautiful and that men are the most intelligent because they recognise beauty.` The girls at the event did not take his comments kindly and later raised objections to his sexist barbs.

The festival organisers have apologised for the Euphoria band's lead vocalist's comments at the event.
