Shahrukh Khan's much-awaited Asoka has opened to a not-so-good response.Shahrukh, who plays the title role and is also the producer of the film along with Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza, is hoping that the 13-crore rupee production on the life of India`s greatest emperor, King Asoka, will give him a huge hit.
According to the reports, tickets for the film in main theatres in Mumbai have been sold out for the next three days, but this is a poor show in film-crazy India, according to the industry watchers.Film industry experts, however, say that the movie could pick up from next week as the holiday season starts, with schools and colleges closed for the big festival of Diwali.
In an interview with CNBC India earlier this week, Shahrukh had said he might even stop making movies if Asoka failed at the box office."I am insecure and if the movie does not do well I may have to think about quitting movie production," Shahrukh said
