Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are leaving for the US tonight to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

As reported 'Ranbir, Kat heading to New York' (Hitlist, November 30) the lovebirds had been planning a getaway to their favourite city.

Says a source, Katrina was busy promoting Dhoom-3 and shooting for her endorsements. Ranbir was shooting for Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos. The two have wrapped up their commitments and have free time on hand.`


The source adds, `Ranbir and Kat will be back from the US by the second week of January when Kat resumes shooting for Bang Bang.` Ranbir and Kat remained unavailable for comment.

Katrina Kaif who takes a break during Christmas every year and flies to London to be with her family is giving it a skip this year. A source says, `Though she was keen to be with her family during the festival, she is planning to take a break in January to spend time with her folk.`
