Wednesday, January 01, 2014 12:11 IST
Here's our pick of some of the Bollywood films in 2014 that could be exciting...

2013, by no means, was a disappointment. There were several cinematic instances where Hindi films experimented and pulled off ably. On the downside, there was usual masala fare that earned more critical negativity than moolah at the box-office. Against such a balanced backdrop, 2014 seems full of promise. HitList points out some of the movies worth waiting...

'Jai Ho'
'Jai Ho' Salman Khan after a year's gap, and again with a remake of Telugu film, Stallin, which apparently was inspired from an English film, Pay It Forward. Directed by his younger brother Sohail Khan, Salman has launched new face Daisy Shah. She used to be a dancer and has danced in the background of some of Khan's films. The film is scheduled to release on January 24.

'Pee Kay'

Well, it's Rajkumar Hirani returning with Aamir Khan. So do we have to say more? The talented duo comes together for a political satire. Though not much is known about the film some leaked pictures (left) promise something exciting. Aamir is pairing up with Anushka Sharma for the first time in this one. The Kai Po Che actor Sushant Singh and Sanjay Dutt are also part of the film. The film releases on June 6.

'Happy New Year'

Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan come together after seven years to make a film. Of course, there is Deepika Padukone who has given two consecutive hits with the actor and they expect a hat-trick. The film has an ensemble cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Jackie Shroff. Two studios are vying to get the film, and Khan is wanting a Diwali release.
