Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai has always denied the rumours that she was first choice for Kareena Kapoor's role in Asoka, but it looks like there was some truth in it after all.

It seems Aishwarya Rai was almost signed for the film before director Santosh Sivan decided to opt for a girl who has never appeared on screen with Shah Rukh before, and that's how Kareena came into the picture.This is the latest incident when Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor have been fighting for the same roles. Remember Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas - which Aishwarya managed to bag over Kareena. Or Sooraj Barjatya's Main Prem Ki Deewani, which Kareena won over Aishwarya! 

It looks like these two are destined to fight for the top female roles going in the industry!
