Salman Khan is known to have a heart of gold and from time to time, the actor reinforces this belief.
With his latest film Jai Ho up for release, Salman Khan has made an unusual request to Eros (the production house distributing the film); he wants to make a contribution to a reliable NGO in every city that he visits for the film's promotions.
Says a source close to the actor, `Starting with Nagpur, he will be donating anything between Rs 3 Lac to Rs 5 Lac depending on the size of the NGO.` What's more, the amount will be channelled from the film's marketing budget. The source adds that money that is being saved on Salman's travel arrangements -- he has chosen to travel with a small team and that too by a commercial flight and not a hired chopper -- will be given to these NGOs.
`This idea is in keeping with Khan's generous streak and the central thought of this Sohail Khan film that advocates helping other people,` adds the source. Jai Ho is Salman's first release in more than a year; his last film, Dabangg 2, hit theatres in December 2012.
