Actor-MP Govinda is fuming over the way a television channel ridiculed him for apparently not knowing the
term "PIL" (public interest litigation).
Though the upset actor was not contemplating any action at present, he said he was very hurt at the
campaign against him in the media.
"They cut down my one-hour interview and made me the subject of ridicule instead. The reporter interviewed
me on how to improve Mumbai's infrastructure but what was screened was something else.
"I have always respected the media and its power but this is no way to treat someone," he said
angrily.
The incident took place when reporters asked Govinda to react to the PIL filed by Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan
and others against the Maharashtra government for its mismanagement of the floods.
Govinda appeared completely at sea and confused PIL with the term "PRO" (public relations officer),
becoming a butt of ridicule on the channel.
Residents of the actor's Juhu locality have criticised his absence during the city's worst crisis due to heavy
rains, when several areas were submerged claiming life and property.
