Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar will be felicitated by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at the golden jubilee of her song "Ae mere watan ke logon" Jan 27 as part of Shreshtha Bharat Divas celebrations.

Many celebrities and national figures along with more than one lakh Indians are expected to sing the song along with Lata at Shreshtha Bharat Divas here, said a statement.

The event will be held at Racecourse, Mahalaxmi in Mumbai.

On Jan 27, 1963, Mangeshkar had sung the song, remembering all the martyrs who lost their lives defending the country, in the presence of the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in Delhi.

The programme, organised by Shahid Gaurav Samiti, an institution commemorating national heroes, in association with Lodha Foundation, is about the 1962 war between India and China.

The event will see over a hundred Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra and other gallantry award winners being felicitated along with their families.
