Bhushan Patel, the director of Vikram Bhatt's quasi-period drama ' 1920: Evil Returns' and Ekta Kapoor's upcoming sequel, 'Raagini MMS 2', is gearing up to complete a hat-trick of horror stories. The director is tightlipped about the details but says that Kangana is a top contender to play the lead in his third horror flick.
"Kangana was one of the names my producers and I were toying with. She will suit the role very well and yes, we have approached her," he reveals, stopping short of admitting that the actress has been signed on for the third film, which he says will not be with Balaji.
"The 1920 sequel was a hit. I'm sure that Ragini MMS 2 will be a bigger hit. At the rate I'm going to soon become a horror specialist," laughs the director who is currently fine-tuning the script of the third film.
But buzz is that the reason the Ragini... sequel has been delayed is producer Ekta's displeasure with the shot content, leading to major portions being reshot.
"We've done some patchwork which is part of the filmmaking process but there's been no re-shooting," insists Bhushan.
Adds the filmmaker, "In fact, we're done with the filming now and have moved into post-production. It's a VFX heavy horror flick and special effects take time. But we will make the March 21 deadline and with Sunny Leone heading my cast, I can promise you some really hot chills."
