After the demoniacal debacle of his last film "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon", the reticent director has been lying even lower than usual.
But now, Sooraj is ready to strike back. All set to make his next film, the director has already completed his script.
But the million dollar question: Who's playing the lead in Barjatya's next "young but traditional" film?
Rumours abound. According to the know-alls, Sooraj has already finalized Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao for the main leads in his next film.
According to another school of thought, Sooraj has also roped in his old favourite Salman Khan as one of the main leads. The Salman factor can be completely overruled from Barjatya's next. Too conservative to play with fire, the Barjatyas would rather not get their hands burnt. Also, there's no role in Sooraj's new script for Salman to fit in.
So, no Salman. Then is it Shahid ...or is it the Rajshris' blue-eyed boy Sammir Dattani? According to a very clandestine line of opinion, Sooraj also has his eyes keenly trained on Sammir, who was introduced in a Rajshri music video six years ago. Ever since then, Sammir has been very much a part of the Rajshri family, both professionally and personally.
Sammir, whose new release "Pyar Mein Twist" carries very encouraging reports, is reluctant to talk about the matter.
"I don't know if I'm being considered for Soorajji's film. But I'd love to be in it. In fact, I've my heart set on working with Soorajji. I'm extremely fond of him as a person and a human being. In fact, I adore the entire Rajshri clan. Even if I don't work with Soorajiji now, I surely will later."
Interestingly, Sammir had been all but finalized for Ken Ghosh's "Ishq Vishq" when Shahid was roped in at the last minute. Ghosh confirms this.
