It's not all roses for our stars. Besides keeping erratic timings and shooting in difficult climatic and social conditions, they are also susceptible to minor and major mishaps in the course of shooting. Recently, Shah Rukh Khan met with a freak accident on the sets of his upcoming film when a door fell on him. This has again brought focus on the safety of actors. In the light of this incident, we list a few such accidents that are most definitely a professional hazard for Bollywood stars.

Amitabh Bachchan

While shooting an action sequence for the 1983 film Coolie, the actor fatally injured himself when the edge of a table pierced his abdomen. It resulted in a heavy loss of blood. The entire nation prayed for his well being and he finally came out of it after a long time. Amitabh Bachchan

Hrithik Roshan

Last year, while performing stunts for his upcoming film, Hrithik Roshan suffered an injury on the head. When pain-killers for the severe headaches didn't help, he went for a CT scan, which revealed a clot in the brain. He immediately underwent a brain surgery to remove the clot and the operation was a successful one.

Arshad Warsi

The actor had a serious accident during the shoot of one of his upcoming films. He suffered a severe head injury while performing a stunt. The shot required him to jump backwards and fall on his back. He overshot the spot and banged his head into the edge of the metal trolley. Luckily, a doctor was immediately called on the sets and Arshad was administered painkillers and given a day off to recover.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchcan

While shooting for Khaki, Aishwarya suffered a minor mishap that could have turned serious. In the scene, a jeep had to come speeding towards her and co-star Tusshar Kapoor and stop a few inches away from them. But the driver lost control of the jeep and hit the duo. Thankfully, they fell on some bushes which prevented them from falling further on the rocks below. After administering first aid, she was immediately flown down to Mumbai in a helicopter and admitted to a city hospital for further treatment.

Katrina Kaif

While shooting for Dhoom 3, the actress injured her leg while performing an action scene. She did not ask for a body double and completed the scene on her own. Nowadays, she's extra careful about her action scenes to avoid injuries.

Ameesha Patel

She hurt her knee while shooting an action sequence for a film. A doctor was immediately called in to give her the necessary medication.

Akshay Kumar

Last year during the shoot of a remake of a Tamil film, Akki met with a dangerous accident. The driver of a truck missed his timing, which resulted in the wheel of the vehicle running over Akshay's foot during the scene. He was rushed to a closeby hospital where he was given primary treatment and allowed to go home.

Ranveer Singh

The Ram Leela actor had a serious back injury while filming 'Lootera' in Dalhousie. It happened he was climbing a mountain. Though advised rest, he continued working which added to the agony. For another film, he was shooting barefoot which resulted in a deep bruise made by a piece of glass. The actor however continued shooting to avoid any delays.
