The actress had taken off for a screenwriting course in New York and voila, she is back even before its over

Last month, Kangana Ranaut had enrolled herself in the New York Film Academy for an eight-week long screenwriting course.

But just after completing a month, the actress is now returning to Mumbai this week to start promoting her film Queen. A source close to Kangana says, ` Kangana's calendar is choc-a-bloc with work, so she had no option but to take some time off her two-month course. she is expected to continue her studies through Skype.`

However, when we contacted the New York Film Academy via email to check if one can complete such a course online and take a break in the middle of it, the academy replied in the negative. `For the US campus, eight-week screenwriting course, we cannot split the study. You have to commit a period of eight weeks in the US and attend classes daily,` said the email.

Kangana remained unavailable for comment. However, her sister Rangoli insists that the academy made an exception owing to Kangana's star status. `Their rules are very strict and yes, they were not keen on letting Kangana leave the course half-way. But she showed them the promos of her forthcoming film and convinced them to let her go. They have even promised to courier her the required study material,` she says.
