It is no secret that the actor-extraordinaire Govinda hero-worships no on else except his mother.

It therefore comes as no surprise to know Govinda went through the wedding rituals with his wife Sunita a second time this January as per his deceased mother's wishes.

Govinda who is currently in Assam scouting locations for his home production Abhinay Chakra discloses , `It was my mother's wish that I re-marry Sunita only when I reach the age of 49. My mother had specified that Sunita and I can go through a sampoorna vivah(complete wedding) only after 25 years of our togetherness. So we had just gone through a formal Gandharva Vivah back in 1987. I completed 49 in December 2014.And In January we went through a full-fledged wedding.`

Laughs Govinda, `Not that Sunita and I were not married all these years. We had gone through a simple and brief ceremony in 1987. But now we went through all the rituals.`

But why the elaborate marriage in London?

Explains Govinda, `When your children are grown up then there must be the sea to divide your place of origins from the place of marriage. This is what is believed according to our custom. Very honestly, we undertook this ritual of a second wedding only because my mother wished me to do this. She would joke with me that at 49 I'd look young enough to be bride-groom.My mother's blessings are always with me.I've been through a lot of difficulties. But her blessings have seen me through the darkest of times.`
