Ever since 'Kai Po Che!' director Abhishek 'Gattu' Kapoor announced his next venture, 'Fitoor', it has created more buzz for its casting issues. Now there is speculation that the Katrina Kaif-Aditya Roy Kapur starrer has been shelved.
Inspired by Charles Dickson's 'The Great Expectations', 'Fitoor' is the love story of an orphan who falls for a wealthy, heartless girl.
Says a source, `As things appear, it is unlikely that it will take off. The film has been put on the backburner and meanwhile, Abhishek might move on to another project.`
The production house's spokesperson however maintains, `Abhishek is currently in Kashmir on a recce. Things are on course and we will roll as scheduled by mid-2014.`
According to B-Town buzz, Kat had expressed reservations on being cast opposite original choice Sushant Singh Rajput, who later opted out of the project. There was also news that Sridevi and Rekha were being approached to be a part of the film.
