Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's chemistry in their latest film is the talk of the town. Bollywood has had a long history of bromances (brotherly romance) with many of them shining at the box-office. CS talks to a few actors to know what makes bromances tick with the audience and an enjoyable experience for actors to work on

I feel that bromances are very relatable. Women love to watch the guys on screen and for us, working in a bromance is, at times, being just you. Men when they behave stupid in real life can be irritating but that very quality is endearing on screen. My favourite bromances are Dil Chahta Hai, Kai Po Che, Point Break and the Fast and Furious series. I remember I getting very emotional during the riots sequence in Kai Po Che where I tell my friends that my mother has passed away in the train accident. Raju (Rajkummar Rao) consoled me like a brother after that scene.

Bromances are fun to watch. The kind of jokes and thoughts that two guys share is something very different from what a guy and girl may share, so there's a surprise factor as well. I really enjoyed my bromance with Naseeruddin Shah and Sanjay Dutt in the Ishqiya and Munnabhai sequels. I remember this one sequence in Munnabhai where Sanjay slaps me and then apologises in a day or two. That came out amazingly well. In many of my bromances, the guys and I have played pranks on our female co-stars. We make sure they remember us for the rest of their lives (laughs). It's very easy to develop a crackling chemistry with a male co-actor as most guys think alike!

I think the entire idea of men bonding over various topics is a great idea in itself. Bonding with anyone on a healthy level is good. My favourite bromance is 3 Idiots; all of us had a blast shooting for the film and the chemistry showed in the final product. While working on bromances, I realised that there could be great friendship between actors, too, and there doesn't have to be any negativity or jealousy as it's made out to be.
