Bollywood actor Nana Patekar Monday participated in a shooting championship here Monday, operating with Olympian Gagan Narang's rifle, but scoring low. He termed his own performance as "bad shot with golden gun".

Patekar scored 450 points in the 300 metre big bore free rifle prone event at the ongoing G.V. Mavalankar Open National Shooting Championship being held at Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Academy at Kadarpur near here.

"It was chilly and the wind was blowing fast. I must have scored at least 550 points. It was Olympian Narang's gun. It was a bad shot with a golden gun," Patekar told IANS.

"I must have chosen a hand stop (sling to stop hand to move forward while firing) at 14 scale point but my decision to shot at 15 scale point was wrong," he said.

More than 600 shooters from all over the country are slated to participate in the championship which will go on till Feb 19.

Narang also took part in the event.
