Baba Sehgal, who made his mark as a pioneering Hindi rapper some years ago but faced a downturn
in his musical fortunes, is set to make a comeback as a villain in a Bollywood movie.
He will appear as the villain in director Vicky Ranawat's "Thodi Masti Thoda Dhoom", which has
Sanjay Kapoor and Hrishita Bhatt in the lead roles.
"Now I am happy to be at work again and especially my role as a villain is quite enjoyable," Baba
told a news conference here Thursday.
At the same time, he is hitting the small screen with a role in the serial "Le Jayenge Le Jayenge" for
Star Plus channel. Besides, he will also host a music show "Sare Ga Ma Pa" on Zee
Punjabi.
Though Baba is ready to trot his talents as an actor, he has not left music behind. He is ready to
unleash an album titled "Welcome to Mumbai" that has eight songs composed by him.
"The music album has eight songs comprising rap, bhangra and remixes of my old hits. Along with
that, it has some new numbers that will redefine the meaning of hip-hop," said the
engineer-turned-rapper.
"Currently we are at a conclusive stage with two leading companies for its release. I am hopeful that
it will be out in the market within a month," he said.
Baba also announced a formal tie-up with Delhi-based entertainment group Amigos Entertainment to
release another music album in the near future.
Harjit Singh Sehgal, popularly known as Baba Sehgal, carved a niche for himself with the release of
his rap album "Thanda Thanda Pani" in 1992. Baba, known for his wild sense of humour and earthy
lyrics, has so far released 21 albums.
