Rani Mukerji and her body double took to the streets of Mumbai for her next film

Rani Mukerji spent her Sunday chasing clues and nabbing suspects. The actress and her body double were spotted at Horniman Circle shooting for Pradeep Sarkar's film, 'Mardaani', till late evening.

The actress, who essays a no-nonsense cop in the flick, had her double step in when some of the scenes got a tad too rough for her to handle.

Says an onlooker, `The sequence being shot had Rani's character trying to catch a biker. As it was a Sunday, the area was deserted, but as soon as the unit set up their cameras, people came in droves to get a glimpse of the star.`

The onlooker adds, `At times, the crowd was confused about who they saw in the frame - Rani or her body double. Even when they were together, we had to look twice at their faces to guess who among the two was Rani.`

After the shoot, Rani was spotted taking snapshots of the director on the sets.

Last seen in 'Bombay Talkies', 'Mardaani' - where Rani plays a cop - is considered to be the actress' most challenging role. The film is produced by her alleged beau, Aditya Chopra. As part of her preparation for the role, she even visited the Mumbai police's crime branch office in December, where she got an insight into their working patterns.
