Disillusioned by the fact that there are few takers for his kind of music in the industry, music director Uttam Singh is now looking at Pakistani films.

Singh has just finished arranging the music for the remake of "Devdas" in Pakistan. He says he is open to accepting more offers in Pakistan.

Recalls Singh: "I had stopped arranging music for films after 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun', but then I realised this was a unique opportunity to go back into the classical mould and create music that I had been longing for all this time."

"Ironically, the music I arranged for the film has its roots in India. It's sad that our producers have lost the cultural ethos in music and handed it over to new-age music directors better equipped for item numbers," he adds.

Singh says there are seven songs in "Devdas", all sung by Indian singers - Asha Bhosle, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shreya Gosal and one song each by Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam.

Singh's last film was "Pinjar". Right now, the man who made music for "Dil To Pagal Hai" has only film - "Kacchi Sadak" by Sanjay Singh.
