For one reason or another, the film Roy has been in the news all along. To begin with, its first look was released in August last year with most people having no clue about the film. Also surprising was Ranbir Kapoor's presence in the film. To add to it, the film has been dogged by constant delays in its shooting schedule.
Initially, the film was supposed to release on June 20 this year. But due to the unavailability of actors, the film got postponed. During this time, speculation was rife that the film has been shelved. Then there were rumours about Ranbir not giving any dates for the film. Recently, director Vikramaditya Singh told a newspaper that the film features a song sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh that will be soon picturised on lead actor Ranbir Kapoor. But soon after, the singer clarified on a social networking site that he is not recording any song for the film.
All these troubles notwithstanding, the film is set to go on the floors by the end of this month. Says producer Bhushan Kumar, `We will start shooting for the film by the end of the month. First, we will shoot in Mumbai till mid-May after which Ranbir will join the shoot in June. We will wrap up the shoot by July.`
Kumar also confirms that Yo Yo Honey Singh is not recording a song for the film. `That news is false; I have not even spoken to him about any song. If we feel the need for a song and we think we can work something out with him, we will do so at the right time,` he adds.
The film, starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal besides the Kapoor scion, is now expected to release in September this year.
