With stars usually staying away from endorsing products such as condoms, getting on board a leading actor as a brand ambassador can be a daunting task. However, it appears that Ranveer Singh has now chosen to go off the beaten track.
It seems that the actor is setting a precedent by agreeing to be the brand ambassador for a leading condom brand.
Says a source, `Ranveer always prefers to tread a different path. He knows how to exude confidence and attitude. A combination of all these factors, plus his growing popularity, made him a suitable choice for the brand.`
Adds the source, `The actor loves attention and knows how to get it - be it through his mannerisms or his comments. The brand feels that his cool dude image will be an asset to their campaign.`
On his part, Ranveer apparently feels that promoting safe sex is a social cause itself.
Auditions for the female models, who will feature in the montage TV commercial, are currently on; the ad is slated to be shot on March 30 and 31. Adds the source, `The ad will be a highly stylised one with a feel-good factor.`
Ranveer remained unavailable for comment.
Almost there
Last year, there was buzz that Arjun Rampal had been roped in to become the brand ambassador for a condom brand. The hunk had, according to the buzz, demanded R6 crore and as he refused to slash his fees, he was not signed on.
