Ranbir Kapoor has been apparently approached by Excel Entertainment for debutant Nitya Mehra's film. It was initially offered to Aamir Khan, but the superstar turned it down.


The makers were also keen on Deepika Padukone as the female lead, but she could not commit as she is busy.
