Now it has emerged that SRK has agreed to do a film with Anurag Kashyap. And while there have been reports that Shah Rukh Khan might be playing the lead role in 'Alwyn Kalicharan', a source from the industry reveals that Anurag Kashyap has written another script for King Khan.
It may be pointed out here that more than a decade ago, Kashyap had signed Anil Kapoor to play the lead in his film, 'Alvin Kalicharan'. The thriller, touted as being ahead of its time, was then shelved due to budgetary constraints. Recently, there was word about Kashyap approaching SRK to play 'Alvin Kalicharan'. But a source says, "SRK and Anurag will soon work together on a film, but it is definitely not the 'Alvin Kalicharan' project. It's a fresh script altogether that Anurag has written."
It seems that SRK will take a call on Kashyap's film once he finishes work on his home production, 'Happy New Year'. "But in the meanwhile, both Anurag and King Khan are working on the script and fine-tuning it," says the source.
The source adds that it was Anushka who first heard Kashyap discuss his new script. "She has developed a great working equation with Kashyap since they started working on their film, Bombay Velvet. When she heard about his new script, she thought that SRK was perfect to play the lead in the film. That's why she organised a meeting between the two," says the source.
Anurag Kashyap was not available for comment despite attempts to contact him.
