Filmmaker Rahul Rawail is upset with Vikas Bahl for having claimed that his film 'Shaandar' is India's first 'destination wedding' film. Speaking to hitlist, Rawail says that his film, 'Love Story Again', holds this distinction.
"It is both disturbing and silly that Bahl is claiming 'Shaandar' to be the first destination wedding film. I have been working on 'Love Story Again' for the last 10 months now and it will go on the floors in May," he points out.
Rawail, who returns to direction after seven years, says, "There is no question of one-upmanship. For instance, the second half of 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' could be easily called a destination wedding film."
Shashi Ranjan, who is producing Rawail's film and is lead actress Anushka Ranjan's father, reiterated that theirs is the first film in this genre. "We only to wish to set the record straight as our film was conceived a year ago and it is already under production." Director Vikas Bahl was unavailable for comment.
