Talking about his close friend Rajinikanth, Bachchan Sr. reminisced, `He was saying, 'You know Amitji, I am getting bored, I don't know what to do now' and I said, Please do not stop working. Just continue doing what you are doing, irrespective of the fact that it is boring to you, and look what he produces now!!`
Amitabh spoke about Rajinikanth's crazy fan following down South, stating how it is impossible to get tickets for his movies for the first few weeks, because his fan clubs buy them all. He concluded his speech with these words, `May I just say on the 100th year of Indian cinema, that when the history of Indian cinema will be written, it'll be before Kochadaiiyaan and after Kochadaiiyaan`
